This paper explores two original works for trumpet and piano: Jubilante in D composed by Femi Olubodun (arranged by Iyanuoluwa Ajayi), and Resonance in G Minor composed by Iyanuoluwa Ajayi. The analysis was conducted through a combination of close study of the original musical score, the researcher's practical performance experience, and firsthand observation of the composers' live performance of the work. Both pieces are composed in a purely Western classical style and represent modern approaches to tonal writing, formal clarity, and instrumental dialogue in brass chamber repertoire. The paper presents a comparative analysis focusing on formal structure, harmonic and melodic content, rhythmic techniques, and the relationship between the trumpet and piano parts. The study positions both works within the broader continuum of 21st century chamber music for trumpet and piano.
