WORKPLACE SPIRITUALITY AND EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY OF MANUFACTURING FIRMS IN ANAMBRA STATE
The study examined the relationship between workplace spirituality and employee productivity of manufacturing firms in Anambra State. Relevant literature was reviewed and the study was anchored on Spiritual leadership theory. Co relational research design was adopted. The study was carried out in Anambra State, Nigeria. The population of study comprised 386employees of the manufacturing firms in Anambra State, Nigeria, Nigeria. The sample size consisted 386 using the entire as the sample size. The instrument that was employed for data collection was questionnaire designed by the researcher. Face and content validity was adopted in this study. Test re-test method was carried out to achieve reliability of the instrument. Cronbach Alpha was used to determine the reliability of the instrument by using Statistic Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The Cronbach Alpa value coefficient size was coefficient of 0.88,. The study employed Pearson Product Correlation Moment to test hypotheses. The results from the tests reveal that there is a significant relationship between sense of community and employee productivity in manufacturing firms; there is a significant relationship between inner life and employee productivity in manufacturing firms and there is a significant relationship between meaningful work and employee productivity in manufacturing firms in Anambra State. The study concluded that workplace spirituality had a significant positive relationship with employee productivity in manufacturing firms in Anambra State The study recommended that Supportive systems and collaborative work should be encouraged through the development of work groups or teams within the workplace in order to increase sense of community and employee productivity, effort should also be made to offer support and encouragement towards employees with regards to their inner life and employee productivity work and role expectations and organizations should emphasize to make their respective organization spiritual and adopt spiritual environment, and also emphasize meaningful work and employee productivity
