It is obvious that female ministers among Christian churches are making waves in almost every sphere of Christianity. They are noticeable in the apostolic, evangelistic, prophetic, pastoral and administrative roles in the body of Christ. They have been found among founders/co-founders of various denominations and their works have been adjudged by remarkable miracles, signs and wonders. The objectives of the study were to determine the contributions of female ministers in the body of Christ, assess their uniqueness, and appraise the challenges facing female ministers in Akwa Ibom State. The research methodology employed was descriptive method of gathering information. Few scholars say that gender discrimination is their major challenge however; the researchers observe that, there are other challenges that are more frustrating than gender discrimination. The study concludes that the church and the society need to re-examine their beliefs and structural formations in relation to female ministers especially in the area of leadership. The study recommends that the family, church and the society should practically recognize women as God’s unique creatures who are able to respond to God’s calling; thus, creating an enabling platform for them to express their ministerial gifts so that God’s redemptive plan for human race might be completely accomplished.
