Like Aristotle metaphysics was of core importance to Plato. Plato was deeply influenced by his master Socrates whom he believed was a wise man but paradoxically executed by an unjust and corrupt Athenian society.1 The life and death of Socrates made an indelible impression on the young Plato's mind. This eventually proved to be the catalyst that brought him to philosophy. ;
