Dr. Ndidiamaka Ndukauba Maduike
Abstract

This paper looks at the effects of sexual violence on the moral, psychological and emotional well – being of the woman in one hand and as a weapon of war on the other hand. The study employs critical analytical method in its analysis of the text; The Last Duty by Isidore Okpewho. The theoretical framework used in the study is the sociological theory of the poststructuralist school which encourages inter-disciplinary in literary and critical study. The study concludes that sexual violence is not just used as a weapon of war but as a means of discouraging women from asserting their rights and obtaining their rightful recognisation in the male chauvinistic society.
