PHILOSOPHY AND HUMAN VALUES IN A FRAGMENTED WORLD"EXPLORING THE INTERSECTIONS OF ARTS, HUMANITIES, AI, BIOTECHNOLOGY, AND NATION BUILDING.

Abstract

In an age marked by rapid technological advancement and deep social fragmentation, questions about what it means to be human have become more urgent than ever. While artificial intelligence and biotechnology promise efficiency and progress, their growing influence often unfolds alongside moral uncertainty, cultural dislocation, and weakening communal bonds. This situation raises a fundamental question: how can human values be preserved, redefined, and strengthened in a world increasingly shaped by scientific innovation and technological power? More specifically, what role can philosophy, the arts, and the humanities play in guiding artificial intelligence and biotechnology toward meaningful contributions to nation-building rather than social disintegration? Adopting an analytic method, the findings reveal that when technological development operates in isolation from philosophical reflection and humanistic insight, it risks deepening inequality, ethical confusion, and cultural erosion. Conversely, the integration of philosophical reasoning and humanistic perspectives into technological innovation fosters ethical awareness, cultural continuity, and inclusive national development. The study concludes that philosophy and human values are not peripheral but central to sustainable nation-building in the modern world. Technology alone cannot unify societies or define progress without moral direction and cultural meaning. It therefore recommends the deliberate incorporation of philosophical education, ethical frameworks, and humanistic inquiry into technological policy, innovation processes, and national development strategies. Such integration offers a pathway toward a more humane, cohesive, and value-driven society in an increasingly fragmented world.
