Abstract

This paper explores the significant impact of technology on faith education within Christianity, Islam, and African Traditional Religion (ATR). It analyzes how digital innovations have transformed traditional methods of religious teaching, which were previously dependent on face-to-face interactions in communal settings. The paper highlights the emergence of various technological tools, including smartphones, online learning platforms, and social media, that facilitate the dissemination and understanding of religious teachings. In Christianity, online platforms like Zoom and YouTube enable remote participation in Bible studies and prayer meetings, while applications provide accessible religious resources. Similarly, in Islam, mobile applications and virtual lectures have democratized access to Qur'anic studies and Islamic teachings. ATR, while benefiting less dramatically, has seen the preservation and discussion of oral traditions through digital media. The advantages of technology in faith education include increased accessibility, enhanced engagement, and broader outreach. However, the challenges of misinformation, unequal access to digital resources, and potential declines in personal interaction are also discussed. Ultimately, this paper contends that, despite its challenges, technology plays an integral role in shaping contemporary religious education and offers opportunities for enriched learning across various faiths.
