This study was carried out to investigate the impact of Christian parents’ educational background on the academic interest and performance of Senior Secondary School Students in North West, Nigeria. The study was anchored on investment theory and adopted survey research design. A sample size of 1,278 respondents were randomly sampled to represent the total population. Questionnaire and interview were instruments used for data collection. Data were tested using sample t-test for testing the hypothesis. Findings revealed that, educated parents manage their children's academic weaknesses, encourage them to improve with extra moral classes, and enjoy greater care and attention in school while parents’ religious/moral background is a factor influencing the academic interest and performance. The study recommends among others that, Christian parents should be encouraged to actively participate in their children’s education by monitoring their academic progress, assisting with assignments and providing guidance that will enhance students’ academic interest and performance.
