Abstract

The viewers or consumers of the media are naturally influenced or have their perceptions of social realities shaped by what they watched or listened to on television and other media platforms such as radio, firms, social media and others. But the potentials of the wire service especially in Nigeria have not been well appreciated basically for the fact that most media sectors ignorantly fail to subscribe to their service or that they make use of them negatively to instigate the minds of the audience to unleash violence or religious crisis. In view of this, the research paper tries to examine the problems associated with the wire service, the effects of Cultivation on television audience through some existing theories in order to educate, orientate and disabuse the minds of the television audience against religious crises. This is done through existing literature on the subject matter thereby proffering salient suggestions that can be of help to the problems at hand.
