Ndidiamaka V. Ugwu Kanayochukwu M. Okoye
Abstract

The advancement of technology and social media has dramatically transformed how people interact and access information. Although these hold so many advantages, it is also challenging for parents who are making efforts to raise disciplined children. In this digital age, children have been exposed to ideas and behaviors that are contrary to the original norms and values instilled in them through parenting. Consequently, parents are often faced with the challenge of balancing their religious principles and instructions with the realities of the digital age. The article, therefore, examines how religious values can be reinforced in parenting roles within the digital era. Using the qualitative phenomenological research method, the study reveals that religious values play a crucial role in shaping family life, providing a moral and ethical foundation, discipline, and interpersonal relationships. The Internet has come to stay. Therefore, parents should learn how best to use it and monitor their children.
