Philosophy of education is the application of critical thoughts on education. It is, therefore, a critical appreciation of educere (to lead out) and educare (to lead into) as regards teaching and learning. African Philosophy of education is in the same way is an application of African critical thoughts on African system of education which is necessitated by the colonial collateral damage done by the colonized system of education forcefully introduced into Africa as part of their colonial agenda. The West via colnialism interfered in African system of education with very many consequential implications, Hence, there is need for a paradigm shift in the contemporary rethinking and rethought of African education and the philosophy behind it. Using the method of critical analysis, the researcher discovers that there is necessarily serious need to rethnik and have a rethought of African education through an African philosophy of education against the inherent and continued damaged of neocolonialism and post-colonialty. A rethoughtful rethinking of African philosophy of education will simply take care of a system of education that is for the good of Africans in content development and curriculum expansion within the bounds of African language than any foreign language
