QUALITY EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS: A SURVEY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMPETITIVE WEARS AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IN ANAMBRA STATE
It has come to our notice that the people of Anambra State are often carried away by the colour and beauty of a uniform as against educational outcomes in making the choice of a school for their wards/children. This has so far affected the quality of our education. The researcher in this study wants to find out the relationship between academic excellence and competitive wears in Anambra State. Three research questions were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. Simple random sampling technique was used to select four thousand and fifteen (4015) respondents. The instrument for data collection was a well-structured questionnaire. Four thousand and nine (4009) was returned and four (4) out of it invalidated. The data collected was analyzed using statistical mean. It was discovered that the three major factors that affect our education are the student, the teacher and the environment. Even though the uniform is a cue, it does not in any way affect educational outcomes. Based on these findings deductions and recommendations were made.
