THE UNIVERSALITY OF OBJECTIVE MORALITY IN HUMAN CULTURE

Ignatius Nnaemeka Onwuatuegwu
Abstract

This philosophical paper explores the concept of objective morality and its universality across human cultures. It argues that there are fundamental ethical principles that are universally accepted as objectively moral, such as the prohibition of murder, theft, and dishonesty. The paper investigates the historical and cultural context of moral beliefs and practices to demonstrate that these principles are not arbitrary or culturally relative. It also examines potential objections to the idea of objective morality and provides counterarguments. Ultimately, the paper concludes that there is strong evidence for the universality of objective morality in human culture, and that this understanding can have important implications for ethical discourse and decision-making.
