Abstract

There was a time when rational society was governed by customs and traditions. Marxists have argued that society is defined by dialectical deteriminism and historical inevitability. History has a great role to play in human society. The Marxists asserted that the state served as an instrument of legitimate force. It was regarded as an instrument that has a force of a divine origin. The state is also known for its normative expectations. The emergence of the state arises from the embourgeoisation of capitalist society. The objective of this paper is that the conceptual clarification of the state from the perspective of Marxism-Leninism is as real as our humanity. The state presupposes the platform for our self-realization, self-actualization and self-fulfillment. The state is characterized by normative justification and ideological assumption of the ruling classes. The state is classified as one of the elements of ideological structures such as philosophy, law, religion, politics, arts, literature. This paper adopts the analytical framework in discussing the state as a force of divine arrangement and it is aimed at normative expectations. The findings of this paper is that the concept of the state has a contemporary significance and it demonstrates the Aristotelian tradition that man cannot live in complete isolation. He needs the state for his human flourishing and flowering of his freedom and rights. This paper that Lenin's political philosophy presupposes the radical change, the practicalization of democratic values and the politicization of economic justice in contemporary human society.
