ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE TRANSFORMATION OF HUMAN THOUGHT: RETHINKING CREATIVITY IN TEXTILE AND GRAPHIC DESIGN

Ikpi Nokwa Iliya Tyokyaa, Sandra Yerchan
Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the creative industries, challenging traditional paradigms of design thinking and human creativity. This paper explores how AI is transforming the thought processes underlying creative practices in textile and graphic design. By examining AI applications in pattern generation, color forecasting, fabric simulation, and generative graphic design, it presents a comprehensive discussion on how designers now collaborate with intelligent systems to expand the boundaries of aesthetic expression and cultural relevance. The paper is framed within philosophical inquiries into the nature of creativity, authorship, and the evolving role of the designer in the post-digital age. Drawing from recent studies and case examples, it highlights both the opportunities and limitations of AI-driven creativity. It concludes that while AI cannot replicate human emotion or intuition, it significantly augments the creative process, leading to novel forms of design that blend tradition with innovation. This shift calls for a rethinking of human thought, particularly in how we define and cultivate creativity in an increasingly technological world.
