This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Human Resource Management (HRM) at Admiralty University of Nigeria, Delta State, with a focus on AI-enabled recruitment and selection. The study is motivated by the increasing demand for more efficient, accurate, and candidate-friendly recruitment processes in Nigerian universities. Specifically, it examines how chatbots and AI-powered video interviews affect recruitment outcomes, with emphasis on candidate assessment accuracy and satisfaction. The population comprised 61 senior staff directly involved in recruitment and selection. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation in SPSS (version 27) at a 5% significance level. Findings revealed a significant positive relationship between chatbot use and the accuracy of candidate qualification assessments (r = .411, p = .001), as well as between AI-based video interviews and candidate satisfaction (r = .358, p = .005). Although full adoption of AI tools remains limited, stakeholders expressed optimism about their potential. The study recommends greater investment in AI-driven recruitment technologies and targeted training to enhance institutional readiness. This research contributes empirical evidence from higher education in a developing economy, highlighting the importance of aligning technological innovation with ethical considerations and organizational priorities in HRM.
