This study investigated the awareness of ethical concerns in artificial intelligence use in social media among residents of Lokoja, Kogi State. Anchored on the Technology Acceptance Model. A survey research method was adopted, employing a multistage sampling technique to select respondents from Lokoja metropolis. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings revealed that a significant proportion of residents are fairly aware of AI ethical concerns. Privacy invasion and personal data security threats were identified as the most prominent ethical issues. The study concludes that perceived usefulness and ease of use continue to drive acceptance of AI-enabled media platforms despite ethical apprehensions. It recommends that government and regulatory agencies should intensify public sensitisation campaigns on AI ethics and digital rights. Social media companies should enhance transparency in AI algorithms and data usage policies.
