Ecosemiotic is the study of the interactions between the ecological system and the life of signs. In ecosemiotic, the environment is an important factor as it is associated with quality of its habitats. This study analyses the omnipresent of signs in the relationship between humans or nonhumans and their environment using Uexkull’s theory of Umwelt with emphasis on the semiotic representation of the relationships between interspecies in their Umwelten.We noticed that even though animals and humans live in different umwelt, they sometimes create a common umwelt which enables them communicate to one another which is clearly seen in Alain’s Mabanckou’s Mémoires de Porc-épic. The study of these Umwelten enables us see how change is enacted in humans, animals and plants as members of the same environment even as they get entangled one with another.
