USE OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE PRESERVATION OF PERSONAL REPUTATION BY YOUNG CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA

Abstract

This article explores the dual nature of social media as a powerfin tool for communication, opinion formation, and business promotion while highlighting its potential for reputation& Gann. It examines the various detrimental publications on social media, such as lying, contumely, rash judgment, detraction, calumny, tale-bearing, and violation of secrecy, which can tarnish an Individual's hard-earned reputation. The stuco, specifically addresses the involvement of young Nigerian Christians in these harmfid practices, explaining them as violations of the Eighth Commandment against bearing false witness, as well as the Seventh and Tenth Commandments. This moral theological exposition aims to guide young Christians to avoid banning the personal reputation of people in the social media space.
