THE INFLUENCE OF EPICURUS' UTILITARIAN ST ETHICS ON 21 CENTURY PARENTING: THE QUEST FOR AUTHENTIC PARENTING AND DISCIPLINE

This paper argued that there is a very strong influence of the Epicurean utilitarian st ethics on the 21 century parenting and discipline; and that it has brought about a decline in work ethics and hard work. The paper analytically explored the possibility of authentic parenting. It emphasized that pain is not avoidable as it is considered a part of our collective human existence and experience that can eventually lead to long term pleasure. This paper adoptedthe qualitative and expository methods of investigation.
