This article summarizes the discussions around the issues of the human environment and how humans can improve on care for the eco-system from the light of the catholic perspective, while focusing on the contributions, direct and indirect, of the famous church father. Augustine of Hippo who through his two major works, the confessions and the City of God, gave ample teachings on the divine intention for the human habitat, not sparing the amazing connection men can have with God through the physical creation visible to them. The life of Augustine was reflected on as well as his personal experiences that gave birth to what we have today as his contribution to this line of thoughts. The main focus was how practical we can be in the use of this knowledge and how we can implement it in the many facets of our environment. At the end, the cross of the work is hinged on the lessons and deposits of teachings found in St. Augustine’s “City of God”, “Confessions” and the “Laudatosi” of Pope Francis.
