The fallen standard of education in contemporary Nigeria continuously degenerates, with nothing significant done by concerned authorities, elites, individuals and groups to ameliorate the issues at stake. This study interrogates the standard of education in contemporary times and makes a case for its revival through a retrace to Nigeria's past glory of quality education. Using descriptive method and participant intuition technique, the paper taps from closely relevant textual materials for content-analysis data. It reveals that the education sector of this nation continuously battles with low standard and productivity, pervasive corruption, poor funding, embezzlement, examination malpractice, lack of trained/competent manpower and logistics, cultism, half-baked graduates, incessant strike, outrageous school fees, discrimination, and dichotomy syndrome. In submission, the situation presents complex ethical issues compounded by the unwillingness to address them. Addressing the issues entails collective efforts and scholars' attention to explicate and find the ways-out, tracing the remote and immediate causes of the fall, towards resuscitating its lost glory.
