NEED TO REDESIGN ECONOMICS EDUCATION IN NIGERIA FOR THE 21ST CENTURY LEARNING NEEDS

This paper focuses on Economics education in Nigeria and how it can be redisgned keeping in view the learning needs of the 21st century and goals of the Federal Republic of Nigeria National Policy o Education. special focus is on regular revision of Economics curriculum in view of rapidly growing knowledge, adoption of innovative ways of learner-centric teaching methods, strategic use of technology and scientific approach to assessment based on higher-order thinking skills. it is imperative that to be successful in this revamp. Economics teachers at all levels of education in Nigeria should, and are to be regularly empowered in all aspects of Economics education.
