Women to a large extent, are dominated by men in almost every ramification in society. This is more worrisome in the African society where women face a lot of limitation on the basis of their gender; this stems from socio-cultural and political influences in a male dominated society. The consequence of this is the exclusion of women from various aspects of human life, which inhibiting the realization of the potentials of women to be what they want to be. This research paper posits that Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's feminist philosophy has a lot of nutritional philosophical value to contribute to the integral formation and development of women in the African society. Although the research paper is a philosophical appraisal, it does not completely affirm her position; it further evaluates her thought through the lens of philosophy. The research paper implores a qualitative and expository research method to explore feminist philosophy; it also bears in mind to limit its scope to the African society with particular reference to Nigeria. The paper agrees with Chimamanda on the issues and problems as they affect women; but the research work deviates from her concept of equality and equity of roles. Hence, the paper does not throw the baby out with the bath water.
