BENSON PETER IRABOR, Ph.D. MOORE KINGSLEY OLEGHIBE ANDREW ONWUDINJO Ph.D.
Abstract

This study explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Andrei Aleinikov's creative pedagogy to address the theory-practice gap in Nigeria's education system. The emphasis on theoretical knowledge over creativity and technical skills has resulted in incompetent graduates. To bridge this gap, this research examines the effectiveness of AIenhanced creative pedagogy in promoting pragmatic education. Using the method of critical analysis and interpretation, this study investigates how AI-facilitated creative pedagogy fosters functional, self-reliant education, addressing Nigeria's educational challenges. Findings indicate AI-integrated creative pedagogy enhances pragmatic learning by connecting theoretical concepts to practical skills, thereby bridging the theory-practice divide. This research contributes to existing knowledge by highlighting AI-driven creative pedagogy's potential in cultivating critical thinking, self-reliance, and 21st-century skills among students and teachers. The study recommends integrating AI-enhanced creative pedagogy into the curriculum and conducting further research on its effectiveness. The adoption of AI-infused creative pedagogy has significant implications for Nigeria's education system, producing competent, self-reliant graduates equipped for the labour market. This study provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders seeking to revitalize Nigeria's education system, demonstrating the viability of artificial intelligence and creative pedagogy in addressing educational challenges and promoting skills-based education.
